Primary email account no longer will work

Primary email account no longer will work

My primary email account will no longer work despite having called xfinity numerous times and changed the password.  I can log-in to the xfinity website, but it says email is not available and techs are working on it.  The secondary accounty works fine. Both have exactly the same settings? Is there anyway to redo the primary email account so it will work? I don't want to have to change my email address in all the places I have it stored? Thanks,
