On my new Windows 10 desktop, I followed Comcast's Outlook 2016 set instructions precisely -- three times -- after rebooting also, and the setup test keeps failing with this error message: 

 

"Send test message:  Your outgoing (SMTP) email server has reported an internal

error.  If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or

Internet service provider (ISP).  The server responded: 554

resomta-ch2-01v.sys.comcastnet resomta-ch2-01v.sys"

 

The instructions I followed are at:

Note that this page says it applies to Outlook 2016 as well:

"Note: These instructions also apply to Microsoft Outlook 2016."

Note that this page says it applies to Outlook 2016 as well:

That part in red should be comcast.net not comcastnet.  Check all of your entries to make sure you didn't leave out a period somewhere.
