Need to view e-mail from a few months ago

How can I retrieve e-mails from September, 2016? I can currently only view them dating back to November 1.

If you are still on the old email format, check your deletion schedules;  from the Inbox page go to Preferences>>>>>Email>>>>>Email Deletion Schedule.  Does that account for why you can't see the messages you are looking for?  If so, they are just gone and you cannot retrieve them.  If they were deleted in either the new or old format that long ago you cannot get them back at any rate.

My email deletion schedule is "never." I just don't know how to view the old messages.

Did you try doing a search for them using the search field on the Inbox page?  Here are some search criteria you can try--------------
