Mobile e-mail workaround has vanished from Comcast

Mobile e-mail workaround has vanished from Comcast

I have a problem with the mobile workaround!  When I go to the Comcast Mobile workaround, the mobile email link is now replaced with this link http://m.comcast.net/m/  What happened?  Did the mobile email workaround vanish completely?  Cat Sad

Re: Mobile e-mail workaround has vanished from Comcast

What "workaround" are you referring to?  The url you posted is the correct one for the mobile version of Xfinity email.

I'm talking about the e-mail workaround that has vanished!  Without it, I can't get to the Mobile version of Xfinity Connect!  Please help me!  I'm using Chrome, BTW.  Woman Sad

We don't know what you are referring to. What did "the e-mail workaround" do? Where did it vanish from? Was it on a web page? If so, which? Was it a shortcut on your desktop or in your browser?

What kind of program of device did it vanish from (program name or laptop/tablet/phone)?

It was my desktop.  But this link here is for the Mobile version of the Comcast Home Page, and when I click on "Email", it refuses to take me to the mobile email page but always redirects me back to the same mobile home page.

Re: Mobile e-mail workaround has vanished from Comcast

OK, I think I see what you mean. It appears that the Email link on http://m.comcast.net/m/ just points right back to http://m.comcast.net/m/, instead of taking you to email. Until Comcast gets around to fixing it, does https://web.mail.comcast.net/zimbra/m/zmain get you to email?

Latoque: Could you double-check me on this and pass it along to Comcast? Thanks!

Yes, it does!  Now I can access it from the link you provided for me!  Thank you!  Cat Wink

Yeah I'm getting the same re-direct.  I'll kick it upstairs.

Re: Mobile e-mail workaround has vanished from Comcast

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I have tested this link on Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and the website does not take me to e-mail, just redirect back to the same http://m.comcast.net/m/ I have also tested this website on my smartphone ZTE ZMAX with browser set to default settings and it worked there. Redirects me to https://web.mail.comcast.net/zimbra/m/zmain same website that Bruce posted.

Was there a reason why you were using the mobile version of a site on a desktop browser? I know that not all of the mobile sites work with a desktop browser and vice-versa.

I will notify E-mail and Website support of the problem.

Thank you and please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns. I'd be happy to help

I was just trying to understand what angeldeb82 was describing. I'm not sure what the philosophy on "what should you get when you pull up a mobile site on a desktop browser?" is, but what ever it is, I doubt if it's "do nothing".

The regulars here often recommend trying http://m.comcast.net/m/ to visitors as a workaround or troubleshooting step when they are having trouble accessing the desktop site. It would be useful if we could continue to do this, absent some strong reason to the contrary.

I should have mentioned that the "Mail" link on http://m.comcast.net/m/ loops back to http://m.comcast.net/m/ on my phone, just like it does on my desktop.

Re: Mobile e-mail workaround has vanished from Comcast

The original issue is STILL unanswered. This thread should NOT be marked as solved. The "Email" button at the Mobile Menu (http://m.comcast.net/m/) is still BROKEN as of this posting on 4/27. The button has not worked since the original question was posted on 4/23.  Currently, there is NO "work around" available to gain access to the webmail site (https://web.mail.comcast.net/zimbra/mail) without first going through the Xfinity home page (http://xfinity.comcast.net/). Does Comcast ever intend to fix the broken Email button on the Mobile Menu?

What are you talking about?  I've since bookmarked this weblink (https://web.mail.comcast.net/zimbra/m/zmain) and it still works as long as I'm logged in.  Woman Happy

Re: Mobile e-mail workaround has vanished from Comcast

old hardware/software (think 2001 vintage MAC OS) will work with comcast mobile email link/platform but not with the main email platform (it gets stuck on the a looping redirect to a page that wants you to update your browser and at one time you could skip past that but now the skip link does not skip).  this is one readson why the mobile site is used on desktops/laptops.  the mobile site email link is broken..and the zimbra link goes to the main platform which does not work with old hardware/software.

asdjkl and jk6: Doesn't https://web.mail.comcast.net/zimbra/m/zmain bring up the mobile email page?

Re: Mobile e-mail workaround has vanished from Comcast

Yes it does Bruce.  However, ONLY if you login first through the main site and visit the "desktop mailboxes" before using your link to access the "mobile mailboxes".  Sign out completely and try it.  As you correctly pointed out on 4/23, "the Email link on http://m.comcast.net/m/ just points right back to http://m.comcast.net/m/, instead of taking you to email."  My point was that the mobile site for email is still broken.  Therefore I don't consider this issue solved.

The "Email" button on the Mobile Menu (http://m.comcast.net/m/) is STILL BROKEN. The Mobile Menu Email button has not worked since the original question was posted on 4/23. Does Comcast intend to fix this?

Re: Mobile e-mail workaround has vanished from Comcast

I have re-escalated this again, from a thread in the Email forum.

I suspect that this has a lot to do with Comcast's recently encrypted secure server and the link on the mobile site has not been updated to resolve that.

Hopefully someone from Comcast will respond to this new escalation soon.

"Email button" on the Mobile Menu at m.comcast.net/m was still broken last week.  Tried it again yesterday and it was finally fixed!  And yes, it's still working today... thanks "Again"!
