Missing Emails and Folders

Missing Emails and Folders

Comcast updated their servers and totally deleted all of my emails and all of my folders which had important information.  I have called them and have spoken to three different people and was told they would be restored; that was five days ago.  Has anyone had any luck getting them to restore the lost emails and folders.  If they can't do this for me then I have no reason to remain loyal to Comcast.

I'm escalating this to the forum admins for follow-up.  This is due to the ongoing email migration to the new platform.  You should see a reply in this thread.

It just happened to me today, too.  I had thought they were done with migration.  I hope we will get the old mail back.

Once you are moved to the new format, there is no way to revert to the old one.

This also happened to me on Feb 15.   I am still trying to get my old emails back - I have contacted Comcast three times about this already.  The funny thing is that no other email accounts on my Comcast account were affected.

hey amir,

how can i check my email inbox ? i lost a password had to reset it they send a link to my comcast.net email but i cant access the link because my inbox is gone and when i hit the email a blank screen comes up. please help me solve this problem.

You can select the "forgot password" option when you go and sign in online. This way another email can be sent to your inbox, if you need assistance retrieving mail I can assist you with that as well just reach back out to me here.

Amir,

I click on your name and then "send private message" but I can't click into the private message box to send you anything.

Early this afternoon (3/15/18) I lost all of my emails and folders under my Comcast account.  Can you please help me restore them as soon as possible.  I have some very important emails that I need to access immediately.

Hi everyone.

 

This happened to my wife account yesterday. All e-mails and folders are gone. Only current e-mail is present. We have a support ticket out with Xfinity right now. My wife had thousands of e-mails in there. I thought there was no hope, but maybe they will reappear at some point.

I have same problem, not able to private message. All of my emails and folders disappeared on 3-9-18. I have chatted and talked to 6 different service people who all say they will work on it. I opened a ticket on 3-10-18. Nothing has changed. I am sick of comcast.

I think the e-mails and folders are gone for good. Hope not, but I don't think they will be recovered. They told me it could be several days before a senior tech gets back to us.

it happened to me thursday...just realized it today..did you get fixed ?

It took me a few weeks and a few calls, but they finally restored my old emails (they created separate folders for the email that they restored).  They created several 'tickets' which never resulted in my email being restored; however, I finally spoke to a rep who fixed the problem (I wish I had made a note of her name).  So keep bugging them!

Never PM an Official Employee or Expert unless requested.  Sending an unsolicited PM is a violation of Forum Guidelines

I too show no folders or saved emails on my comcast account.

Has anyone else fiqured out a solution on the Comcast front?

I have hundreds of saved important emails and general information that I need.

This is very unprofessionlal to say the least!

I have NOT had any resolution to my lost emails yet either.  I'm going to be calling Comcast today and logging a ticket with them.  I did private message Amir as well so hoping he'll be reaching out to me soon.

The same thing has happened to me on 3/16/18.  I have called numerous times and no one can tell me anything.

If this is not respolved within the hour, I will get another carrier.  All my work emails are gone too.  Its a scam. 

I have called and had this escalated and no one has responded or called me back.  Very unprofessional.

I sent Amir a private message last Saturday and got a call from Comcast yesterday (Sunday).  It sounded like they just had to run some sort of a sync (it took an hour or so) and I'm still verifying things....but it appears I've gotten all of my emails and folders restored.  I was going to call in a ticket yesterday but I heard back from them before I could do that....so hoping that was Amir's doing.

 

Good luck to all of you still waiting for assistance.

The same thing happened to me. Contacted Comcast via chat then by phone and was assured they would re-appear!  That was 3/16/2018, today is 3/20/2018 and they still have not been restored.  I went into my email settings then accounts and saw that my account name was simply E-Mail.  I changed it to my username (email address without the @comcast.net) and they suddenly began appearing, first the "lost" emails, then all of my "lost" folders.  Hope this helps.

This corrected my issue as well.  Thanks!!! You would think that Comcast would have figured this out by now.

Hi I cannot access my emails or folders thru the Xfinity site on my Kindle or my phone. All my emails and saved folders are missing. I can access them on my computer thru Outlook. Can you please help restore my files. I use my Kindle 99% of the time.

One thing to note folks if you're trying to send anybody a private message in this forum......when you hover over the name and click on Send Message...and then Private message link....you may just see a box on a page where you should be able to enter text...but it is blocked/locked from text entry.  If you see that then you will need to log into your Xfinity account before you'll be able to send a private message.

 

Hope that helps those of you trying to email Amir...or anybody else regarding this issue.  Good luck.

Since about Mid-March, we are not receiving emails from some known sources. We have no way of knowing how many other sources we are not receiving emails from. After a long "chat" and 2 phone calls with Comcast Internet "specialists" there has been no change. This is obviously related to and caused by the recent maintenace done by comcast but comcast is not acknowledging that.
