Microsoft Works

Microsoft Works

I have recently purchased a new computer (Dell Inspiron 20 3000 Series) I used to use Microsoft Works on my old computer to write letters and address envelopes. I have tried many different things on my new computer to get Microsoft Works for the same purpose without any success. I was wondering if you could advise me on how to install Microsoft Works on my new computer or some other FREE service that will allow me to write letters and address and print envelopes. Thanking you in advance, Anthony Biondi.

Re: Microsoft Works

What's the operating system on your new computer?  If you have the installation CD (DVD?), Works should install without much difficulty.  The only "problem" with Works is that Microsoft no longer supports it.  Doesn't mean it won't work, though.  I still use Office 2003.  (Some folks on here are saying "well, that explains him!! )

A free alternative is LibreOffice.  If you're comfortable with Works, you'll be comfortable with LibreOffice.  https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/

Another free alternative is OpenOffice.  Very similar to Works, early Office versions, and LibreOffice.  https://www.openoffice.org/

You can also use Office Online for free.  In fact, google "microsoft office alternatives" and you'll get a host of sites to guide you.  Download a couple and try them out.  If you don't like one, just delete it.
