Looking for the SMTP Server Address

Looking for the SMTP Server Address

I've found the page Using Email Client Programs with Comcast Email that states the address is smtp.comcast.net. That used to work, but as of a month or so ago it stopped working!

Does anyone know the new SMTP server address?

Thanks in advance,

F

You may be having an IPv6 issue.  Does this thread help?

It's not so much a "address" as a name, but it's correct for sending email. Please describe the problem you are having in more detail.

If you are you getting any error messages please post them, but remove any personal information first. The forums are public and it isn't safe to post personal information here, and it's against forum rules (see http://forums.xfinity.com/t5/Forum-Guidelines/Posting-Guidelines/m-p/866289#M23).

If you post an email address, remove the userID portion but leave the rest. For example, if the message contained the email address "bobsmith@example.net", edit that so it reads "********@example.net" before posting.

Re: Looking for the SMTP Server Address

Using this MS fix for prefering IPv4 over IPv6 is a better option than disabling IPv6 on  the adapter.
