Linking email

I'm closing down my account and the sales rep said I would be able to keep my email as long as I link it to an existing Comcast customer's account. How would I do this?

Re: Linking email

When you cancel service with Comcast the email address (user ID) is suspended for 90 days, and is then put back into the pool of available IDs for any other Comcast customer who wants it.  You no longer have access to any emails you leave with Comcast and that ID.

I suppose another Comcast customer could set you up with a secondary account though.  But I know of no instances of anyone cancelling service and then piggy-backing on someone else's account with old credentials.  Like most ISPs, Comcast's email is proprietary.

You should call them back and ask them exactly how you are supposed to do this.
