How can I delete email autocomplete addresses that are no longer valid?

How can I delete email autocomplete addresses that are no longer valid?

There are email addresses that are no longer in the address book but, having been used in the past, are still part of the autocomplete file of addresses. How can I delete these outdated names. Other mail programs allow you to see all old autocomplete addresses and purge that file. Does Xfinity allow the same? If not, how can I delete the unwanted addresses one at a time? Observation: I went through 4 technical advisors and no one even knew what I was talking about! Please help.

The auto-complete feature in the Comcast address book has it's own memory.  You can't access it or alter it.  Periodically Comcast will re-set accounts, and at that time entries that have been deleted from your address book should vanish.  However, they only do that sporadically, on no particular schedule.  So those old addresses could keep popping up for quite a while.

Re: How can I delete email autocomplete addresses that are no longer valid?

This inability to delete invalid emails from autocomplete on Comcast Webmail seems absurd. I've deleted the contact entirely, then recreated the contact with the correct email, and autocomplete still autofills the old (wrong) email address for the contact.  Does Comcast monitor these forums at all?

One thing I have found--------if you manually type the address in the To: field and then actually send an email with it, the auto-fill will remember it the next time you start typing it in.  But it will also still list the old one as I explained above.  Comcast email is the only one I can think of that has this odd feature.  That is probably because the email and address book are provided by two different companies.  Zimbra writes the email software, and the address book and calendar are provided by Plaxo.
