How do you return an email unread to the sender?

Re: Email return to sender unread

The old email format has no provision for generating a "bounce" message initiated by you.  But if you are on the new format, you can set up a filter to do exactly that.  But understand it will be based on the sender's address, and not just one particular message:

1)  From the Inbox page, click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of the page, then on Settings.

2)  Under Mail click on Filter Rules.

3)  Set the incoming email address as the Condition, and then for the Action select "Reject with Reason".  Fill in whatever you want the bounce to say, then Save in the lower right corner.

This will generate a bounce to the sender that will include whatever you typed into the reject field.
