Deleted email contacts from address book still showing up when formulating new emails and also contacts not otherwise in address book showing up in the list of addressees when initiating new emails.

The auto-complete feature in the Comcast address book has it's own memory.  You can't access it or alter it.  Periodically Comcast will re-set accounts, and at that time entries that have been deleted from your address book should vanish.  However, they only do that sporadically, on no particular schedule.  So those old addresses could keep popping up for quite a while.

 

Also, when you type an address into the To: Cc: or Bcc: fields, the feature will remember it if you actually send an email to that address, even if it’s not in the address book.

Thanks ever ever so much,, Latoque, for your faster than a speeding bullet response to my post.  Spent most of the day trying to resolve my problem and now I can relax and wait for the auto reset to clear out unwanted addresees.  Bravo Zulu!

You're welcome.  Just to add------I had an old ICQ email address that kept showing up for almost two years after I quit using it.  So patience is the key here.  I don't know of any webmail programs that let you delete addresses from their auto-complete.  I've done testing with my Gmail and Yahoo accounts, and they both do the same thing.  Some of the desktop email clients have to ability to erase unwanted addresses from the auto-complete.  I use Apple Mail and I can do that in there.  But even so, I don't think it has any effect on the underlying email account itself.  I need to do some more testing with that.
