Email-Senders name changes

Why does the senders name in my inbox change to my name when I reply to their email?  How can I fix it so that it does not change.

What you are describing is normal.  When you forward a message, you are, in effect, sending a new message, and you are now the sender.

Here's what I am seeing starting this morning:

- sent e-mail to my wife

- she replies (not forwards), "From" shows my name in uppercase as the sender. A mouseover shows her e-mail address.

- Everything else is working as expected

- verified address books

 

PLEASE trash this "new" version. There is always something going down with it. If I put out as crappy a product as this, I'd be fired or demoted.

The original message sender is what is being changed.  Once I forward the email the name changes on the original email.  It does not happen to my other accounts.  I understand that the sender would change with the new email but the original email should not change.

I fixed it. Do the following:

- Logon to the secondary account via comcast.net (in this case, my wife)

- went into webmail

- composed an e-mail. Look! My name is being displayed in the FROM line!

- There was a dropdown arrow, clicked and edited name to what it should say

 

This is a bug, Comcast.

1. Log into my account from the Comcast main page

2. Click on Users at top. Your authorized users should be displayed

3. Edit each account with the incorrect name (like I had to do)

4. Edit User details and change the name

5. Save

 

Once you have done this, logout of my account and webmail. Also logout in the app too.

This is a partial fix for me, as it does screw up my husband's business account which is also linked. Either the account is in his name (which is what's used for his business) or it's in my name (which is what I want for the app for my e-mail). Definitely a bug Comcast. The app should have a place to put in user name, just like you can for your individual webmail e-mail. THANKS, though, for the tip. Appreciate it.
