Email Rules

Can you set up rules on Comcast email like you can on Outlook. I would like to generate an automatic reply stating I'm out of the office at times and can't find a way to do this.

Thanks

Re: Email Rules

Yes, Xfinity Connect has rules, it calls them filters. Go to Preferences -> Email Filters to create them.

However, you don't need to use filters for OOO messages. Go to Preferences -> Email and click on Auto Reply.

Re: Email Rules

THANK YOU Barmar!!

I searched the user Help files and forum for about an hour - found nothing in Help, and then had to use a variety of key words (including "rules") in both the Comcast and Xfinity emai forums before I finally found your answer in the Xfinity forum.   I didn't know that Xfinity calls them "filters".

Your answer was the only one I found that used both "rules" and "filters" and related to automatically routing incoming messages to folders in webmail.

Suggestion - the user Help should include a statement re: its terminology in its description, eg., "...filters ...(sometimes referred to as email "rules") ..."

Thanks again.

PS - the "kudos" button didn't work for me or you would've received my kudos  Smiley Wink

Re: Email Rules

I'm glad it worked out OK for you.  Barmar is not currently active in the forums, and this thread is 3 years old.  I'm closing it as your issue is resolved.
