Email Reciept

How can I know if a person reads an e-mail I'v sent. In outlook I can go to options, and it gives me the selection, but I don't see that as an option on the internet site

Thanks

If you mean by the webmail interface on Xfinity, there is no option for a read receipt.  You must use a 3rd party email client that supports this feature.

Just to add-----------------

What you are describing is a "read receipt".  If you are using the old email format in Comcast, it does not have that option, unless you enable the account in a desktop email client like Outlook or Thunderbird, as Geek46 said.  The new email format does have the feature.  Two considerations are that a)  Compliance on the part of the recipient is voluntary.  They are free to ignore read requests.  b)  Not all email programs support the use of read receipts.  For example, iCloud accounts, Yahoo and Gmail do not have any provision for it.  So even if you send someone with a Yahoo or Gmail account a request for a read receipt, they won't see it.

For the reasons listed, it might be best to include some version of "Please reply so I know you got this" with the message you send instead of, or in addition to, requesting a "Read Receipt".
