Email Not Marked as Read

After openeing an email and then going back out to the list of emails (in the inbox), the email I had just opened is not being marked as read. It is staying marked as unread. This was not happening a couple of days ago. I've had this problem since yesterday (10/9) afternoon.

This is in using comcast webmail.

I'm finding the same thing with my email whether on the website or the phone app. On the web interface you can click on the envelope icon to mark it read, but it's a pain to have to do that. Hopefully they'll fix it soon.  I couldn't find anything in the settings that would do it.

Would you please tell me the version of the webmail you are using? This can be found in the settings cog, under the About section. (see below)

Although it looks like it's working correctly today, at least so far.

Emails that are read still appear as new

Hello

On  yesterday my emails that were read still appear as brand new. I have never had this problem before.

 

Any/all suggestion would be appreciated.

And just like that, today it's not working again. Yes, I have Sort by Unread switched on.

And it looks like that might be the answer.  Switch to Sort by Date, and it seems to work okay.

I have sort to unread turned on, which also doesn't seem to be working. I need to easily get to my unread emails. Can this also be addressed.  Thanks!

Changing to sort by date corrected the situation for me.
