Email Error Message: Synchronization of POP3 folder failed

Last week I began getting this message: which seems to have occurred with others (see forum page at HTTP://forums.Xfinity.com/TV/Email-Web-Browsing/resynchronization/dip/2827820).  The message text is:

 

"Error: system failure: Synchronization of POP3 folder failed, unexpected end of stream."

 

It wants me to fix something in preferences, but doesn't say what is to be fixed.  I have not made changes to my email preferences in many years.

 

Can someone help me identify the problem?  Thanks in advance...

Check your client's settings to make sure they are correct.  They can be found here----------------------
