I have a primary email account that is "Example1@comcast.net The email when composed shows "Example1@comcast.net", however when an email from "Example1@comcast.net" is sent it shows the name of that email as my GMAIL Display Name "ROSEYROSE"? How can I change this, as my comcast email has always displayed my name "Example 1"? Recently, my comcast.net email has started Displaying "ROSEYROSE"... any ideas as to why is this happening?
Do you have the Comcast account enabled as an external account in your Gmail?
Yes-I have the comcast.net email as a recovery AND an alternate email address for GMAIL. Last night I decided to remove the comcast.net account from GMAIL. And I renamed my GMAIL as well. Do you think that was the issue?
OK when you say alternate and recovery. I'm assuming you mean you put it under "Personal information" in the actual Google account settings. I don't think that would cause this issue. What I'm thinking is that you have the Comcast account enabled as an external account in the Gmail settings. From the Inbox page, click on the gear icon, then on Settings. On the landing page click on "Accounts and Import". In that section there are a couple of places you could add another account like Comcast. Does it appear in there?
I found the "Accounts and Imports" in GMAIL. Ok I am there-- so there is no comcast account listed. Although I did remove my comcast account from GOOGLE Personal info completely so perhaps it was there and because I removed it now we can't see where the reall problem lies... Because under the "Personal info": GOOGLE lists
And my "ROSEYROSE" name appears under Personal Info and on the GOOGLE About me page along with my avatar. But I changed that name "ROSEYROSE" last night as well.
If you are one the new Comcast email format, the name the recipient should see is the one you used when you first set up the account. If you are still on the old format, from the Inbox page go to Preferences>>>>>Email>>>>>>Composing. The first item you see is the field to input whatever name you want to use for the "From" field when the recipient looks at it.
