The mail icon failing to alert me when I have new mail. I have even sent emailsto my Xfinity email account and it does not alert me but I am receiving the mails that I send to my account.
Solved! Go to solution
I am going to escalate this since I'm seeing so many people with the same issue. You can't fix it yourself.
Hi, BlackjackGG - Let me just clarify, when you receive a new email, you are not getting red "1" next to email icon right away, unless you reload the main page, correct?
I am not getting a red 1 or any numbers letting me know that I have new mail no matter what I do and that includes reloading the page. I have been clinking on the mail icon to go to see if I have any new mail. Been like this for a good week and was trying to figure out things on my own before trying to get any help from others.
@BlackjackGG - I'm going to investigate if there are any known issues for email notifications. However, I need to know what browsers have you tried, Windows or iOS, also please specify if you have any extensions installed on your browser
@BlackjackGG - Thank you for the information. I will update this post as soon as I find out any updates on this particular issue.
I have made several posts on this same topic since 10/9. I have found using Windows 10 and IE11, if Xfinity .com is added to "Comapibility View", the red "1" will show. However, if closing browser, or just signing out of the account, "xfinity" is gone from the "compatibility view" box. Also most other xfinity screens become messed up while the compatibility view is active. Would this info suggest a root of the problem. Since there is no friendly equivalent in Edge I have no success in that browser.
@gmg---1 - Thank you so much for sharing your troubleshooting steps. I don't suggest adding xfinity.com to compatibility view, it can actually create more issues. I was able to find out that this is a known issue and we are currently investigating it. I created tickets with the Advanced Repair team for you and for @BlackjackGG. It helps tracking the issue.
I will update this post as soon as I get more information.
Thank You Ella for looking into this issue as I have problems here too. Notified comcast team as well but no fix yet. I see many complaints in forums about this issue. Is your email webmaster monkeying with the email program. Seems that email webpage has gone from bad to worse over the months. Just saying.
Having posted a complaint about this problem in a previous thread some time ago, I just now want to thank whomever alerted the troups who got the job done.
Today notification existed and was correctly done. (Let's hope the repair holds )
We are still monitoring the issue to make sure it's completely resolved. Please let me know if you will notice any changes.
My notifications worked for a couple of days until they cleared the ticket and now it is back to maybe yes and maybe no. Hope they do something soon as things are going from bad to worse. Never had a problem until the new email I don't even want to bother to call
@connors - The issue is not completely resolved and we are still monitoring it. I will update this post as soon as I get more information.
Fix had been implemented, we monitored the issue, and the email indicator failure has been resolved.
