Current phishing email from "comcast"

Approximately 3 hours ago, I received a phishing email ostensibly from Comcast saying my email account was about to be frozen.  I suspect others received the same email.  You would think Comcast could note this email's existence and would send out a real email warning about it.

They would only know about it if someone reported it to Comcast. The problem with sending out "real email warning about it" is that others may think it is spam.

 

There is also the fact that it would take a lot of time to send an email to a few million customers. If they did that for every phishing mail that purported to be from Comcast your inbox would be innundated with warnings.

 

They do know those types of mail exist, and the best they and other ISP's can do is try to educate customers about phishing attempts. In fact, that applies to any company that is the target of phishing scams.

It contains very useful information about mail that purports to be from Comcast.

By the time you get through reading it YOU will be an expert on HOW to know that the mail is a phishing attempt.
