Composing Emails

When I try to compose either a new email or reply to an email, it becomes extremely slow because about every 5 seconds the message stops and a box pops up that says " Draft Auto Saved".  This has just recently happened and I don't know how to fix the problem.  I am using the Comcast email system.  Is there some way to either turn off the Auto Save componet of the email program or to at lease extend the frequency of the saves?
