Comcast email connectivity

Comcast email connectivity

I have comcast/xfinity and use their email/phone. I use IE with windows 8.1 (or 2?) I can sign into comcast home page and navigate throughout the comcast links on that page and get to the internet without any problems.  However, when I click on email or phone/text I get the blue spinning death circle and can't connect to the email link.  I have also tried switching browsers to firefox and google to no avail - same issue happens.  Comcast tells me it's my computer.  They did come out and check all cables and equipment.  No issues with my cable TV or with my land line.  I've checked compaitibily, deleted history, reset to default and now I'm stuck.  Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Usually the behavior you describe is because of the browser.  But since you said you tried the standard fixes, try switching to the Lite version of Xfinity Connect.  If you can get to the Inbox page go to Preferences>>>>>General>>>>>>>Versions.  Make the change and go back to the email.  See if that helps.

 

Or you could try using the mobile link to get at it:  in your adddress bar type m.comcast.net/m  and hit return.  

 

You might also consider using the Windows Mail app that comes with 8.1.  Once you get used to it, it is really quite good for most people, and it completely avoids having to use the Comcast email UI.  There are other clients you can use too like Thunderbird or Windows Live Mail.

Latoque - Oh thank you sooooo much.  I switched to LITE and I can now easily access my comcast email from my home page using any browser.   It wasnt a 100% of the time issue but it happened so many times each session that I gave up.  Now its working OK.  Thanks again.  If I continue to have problems I'll jump back in and ask this wonderful community for help again.  For now its good.  Bye.
