Cannot connect through Outlook.com email

Cannot connect through Outlook.com email

I started having issues receiving my Comcast email through Outlook.com on 10/21/2016. I decided to try removing and readding the account, and now, I keep getting the error "We were unable to reach your email provider. Please check your server settings, or try again later."


I've verified that I'm using the server settings directly from Comcast. What has changed? Is this a server-side error, or something on my part on how I'm setting this up?


Incoming server is set as imap.comcast.net, port 993. Outgoing server is smtp.comcast.net, port 587. SSL is on. I've tried the alternate ports of incoming 143 and outgoing 465, and same issue.
