Can't send emails from MS OUtlook.

Can't send emails from MS OUtlook.

Thanks for the solution and information.  I was attempting to do it on Xfinity's site.  Another larger question that I am dealing with is the ability to send emails from my computer.  

 

I have reloaded MS Outlook 2003 from my disc and the internet with no success.  Have set and reset the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3).  They are:

Your Name:  Doyle <Edited for violating forum guidelines: "Personal Information">           Incoming mail server (POP3):  mail.comcast.net

Email Address;     <Edited for violating forum guidelines: "Personal Information">     Outgoing mail Server (SMTP):    smtp.comcast.net

 

User Name:   <Edited for violating forum guidelines: "Personal Information">    

Password:   entered password

Remember Password box checked.

 

Under the "More Settings" tab:

General:    Mail Account:  mail.comcast.net 

Outgoing Server:  My outgoing server (SMTP)  box checked

Connection:  Connect Using y local area network circle selected

Advanced:     Incoming Server (POP3)      110

                          SSL Not selected

                     Outgoing Server (SMTP)       587

                           SSL  Not selected

Delivery:    check the Leave a copy of the messages on the server.  Neither of the other boxes is selected.  

When I test the settings at "Test Account Settings"  all tests clear except the last test,   "Send test e-mail message:  Unable to send test Message.  Please verify the E-mail Address.  

I am able to receive emails but not send any.   One Comcast rep that seemed to know what was going on with my system and theirs was not able to get it to work either.  She said I needed to contact MSoft.  They do not support MS Office 2003 any longer.   

 

Any idea about what may be going on?  My email worked fine up until about 3 weeks ago.

SSL needs to be on for both incoming and outgoing servers using port 995 for incoming, and 587 for outgoing.
