Can't receive E-mails

We just hooked an brand new comcast issued modem/router, and the E-mail can no longer send/receive.  We get an error message that reads


"task 'comcast-Receiving' reported error (0x800408FC): 'The server name you entered can not be found on the network (it might be down temporarily).  Please verify that you are online and that the server name is correct"


How do we get the E-mail to receive messages again?  We've tried looking for a verifiable solution, but many of the forums are pulling up blank for a solution.
