Can't access emails on laptop; only iPhone or iPad

I am not receiving incoming email on my laptop as of yesterday morning. I can see many new messages since then via my iphone 6 and my iPad, which I'm now using to respond.  When I log into my email account on my laptop (preferred), it briefly flashes the latest emails and then they disappear - showing the most recent one as the one from yesterday morning!  There's probably 20 more not appearing. Never had this problem before. Why wouldn't the main Comcast account show my messages? Don't they have to hit there first before hitting other devices? And, why would it tease me with quickly showing the new messages and then they disappear?  Frustrated!
