Re: Can not send emails from Comcast.net

I'm assuming you are using a client like Windows Mail?  Can you send by going straight to the webmail portal?  Which client are you using and what are your settings for outgoing messages?

Re: Can not send emails from Comcast.net

I am experiencing the same issue using my iPad I am not able to retrieve or send emails. All existing emails have disappeared in my inbox and sent folders. However I am able to see my email using my HTC Cell phone. Could this be an iPad issue?

As a check I'll ask the same question I asked the other poster;  Can you use your email OK by navigating to it using Safari, and not the Mail app on the iPad?

Yes, I am able to see my emails via Safari.

Re: Can not send emails from Comcast.net

OK then the problem is probably with the iPad.  Try deleting the account from the Mail app, and then re-create it.  iOS should auto-detect it as IMAP.  I have my Comcast email enabled on my iPhone 4s with no problems.

Re: Can not send emails from Comcast.net

I've been having this problem with the email app on my Macbook Pro since about 3PM PST yesterday:

INITIATING CONNECTION Jan 16 13:20:47.016 host:smtp.comcast.net -- port:587 -- socket:0x0 -- thread:0x618000a65400

INITIATING CONNECTION Jan 16 13:20:47.016 host:smtp.comcast.net -- port:995 -- socket:0x0 -- thread:0x608000e693c0

and then it will time out with either a POP or SMTP error message.  I can still use the webmail app but I haven't been able to connect to smtp.comcast.net or pop.comcast.net, and it was all working fine yesterday.  The "connection doctor" claims my mail can reach the internet so I don't know what the heck is going on.  Help!  Smiley Happy
