No letter icon appears on the web page for xfinity.com to click on to access email

You need to be more specific------what icon are you referring to?  Where?  Do you mean the envelope icon on the homepage or something else?

The letter/envelope icon I refer to is at the top of the xfinity page in the black area above the local weather. All the icons in that strip that are usually visible are not there.

Try refreshing the page.  Also----------


Try clearing out your browser's cache/browsing history. When you have done that, close out the browser and re-start it in a fresh session.
If that doesn't do it, then try using a different browser.
