All of a sudden Outlook on my PC will no longer receive email. It is working fine in Xfinity Connect and via my iPhone but not on Outlook 2003. I checked all the settings for my email accounts as per Comcast's setting chart and all seems to be ok. I get error message 0x80040600 in Outlook.
It mentions Win7 but you can try the same path for XP.
What is Outlook.pst file?
This file is probably one of your most important files – it accumulates all your Emails, attachments, contacts, memos…you name it. If something goes wrong with that file, and there are thousands of reasons (sneaky virus, unexpected shutdown of Outlook, exiting Outlook improperly etc.), then you’ll experience all kinds of errors such as this 0x80040600 error code.
This error is relevant to Outlook 2002, 2003, 2007, 2010 on Windows XP/Vista or Windows 7.
