You have to create the group first, and then add the individual contacts. Is that what you are doing?
After you have created the group, go into the address book and navigate to the contact you want to add. Then check the little box to the left of the name. When you have selected the contact like that, the toolbar at the top of the contacts list will become active, and one of the buttons will be "Add to Group". Click on that and pick the group from the drop-down.
Can you not see this? I clicked on the contact and the tool bar becomes active--------------------
OK I can't see what you are looking at. The image I posted above is the Address Book page, using the Comcast webmail interface on a desktop computer. Are you using something else?
Comcast webmail doesn't have any version numbers I'm aware of. When you are looking at the Inbox page, does it look like this?--------------------------
