Attachments didn't to my email

Attachments didn't to my email

Please help me. Here is what happened: I tried to attach 2 documents, which were written on the program "Word 2013," to an email that I am trying to send, but it didn't work (by the way, my email is set up on the website "comcast.net"). When I clicked "attachments," to attach a document it brung up the screen so that I could browse for the documents I wanted to attach. I clicked on one of the 2 documents I wanted to attach, and clicked "open." The browsing screen disappeared, but the document did not attach to the email. I clicked on "attachments" again in order to try attaching the document again, but nothing happened. When I clicked "attachments" again, nothing happened. I opened a new email and tried this exact same thing several times, but my efforts were futile: it still didn't work, and the same thing happened multiple times.

Finally, after a while, I was succesfully able to attach both documents. I then tried to send the email, but a message appeared. Even though I knew both documents contained information, the message told me that one of the documents was blank and asked if I wanted to send the email anyways. I was confused, but I said no, and checked to make sure both documents contained something. They did, exactly as I had thought. I was even more confused now, but I tried sending the email again. The page that I was on then got stuck, and it didn't respond anymore, so I eventually had to close the page down. I tried attaching the documents several more times, but once again it didn't work. So, my queastion is: how do I get the documents to attach to the email? Thank you so much for taking the time to adress my issue! I really appreciate it.

Re: Attachments didn't to my email

First thing to try even if only to eliminate it as the cause of the issue------------------------------

Try clearing out your browser's cache/browsing history. When you have done that, close out the browser and re-start it in a fresh session.

If that doesn't do it, then try using a different browser and see if you can duplicate the problem that way.

Re: Attachments didn't to my email

I tried doing what you said. It worked, but then when I tried to delete a document that I had attached, it stopped working again. I tried deleting the browsing and caching history, but that didn't work. I then tried restarting my computer AND I deleted the history again. That actually worked. I have already sent the email, with attachments, succesfully. Thanks for the help! I now realize that the problem starts when I try deleting something that I attached, and that I can fix it by restarting the computer. I have had similar problems when trying to attach documents to emails in the past. I know want to know how to fix the problem so that it does not happen again. Please tell me if you're still listening to me.

Re: Attachments didn't to my email

Don't try to delete the attachment.  Just discard the message and start over again.  There is no need to keep re-starting the computer.
