Altering or cancelling a filter.

New Poster

Altering or cancelling a filter.

I want to alter an email filter and, in another case, cancel the filter.

Right now, I filter unwanted emails to go directly to the 'Trash' folder.

I'd also like a way to review the filters that I have.

So far, I see no way to do what I want to do.

TIA for any reply.

Re: Altering or cancelling a filter.

Sorry you are having a hard time finding your filter settings. Hopefully I can point you in the right direction here.

Create an Email Filter

  1. Click on the Gear icon, then click Settings. (Pic 1)
  2. Select Filter Rules, and then select Add new rule.(Pic 2)
  3. Enter a name for the filter in the Rule name field.
  4. A single filter can have multiple condition for how a message will be classified. Choose if you want affected messages to meet any condition or all conditions.
  5. Select the condition using the drop-down menu. Options include conditions based on all or part of an email address, words in the subject line, or message length. Add or remove conditions by clicking Add condition.
  6. Select the action to be performed, such as sending emails to a specific folder or directly to Trash.
  7. Click OK to save your filter.
  8. From the Filters rules section you can choose to Delete, Disable or Edit your filter as well as change the order in which your filters run.
