Adding an attachment in the body of an email

I am trying to add/attach a pdf document to an email so that it shows in the body of the email and not as an attachment. When I go to attach it there is a box on that page that says "Show images in message body". When I check that box it does not add it to the body of the email but attaches it as a normal attachment above the email.  I know in the past i was able to get the image in the body but cannot seem to do so now. Any ideas how I do it

Re: Adding an attachment in the body of an email

A .pdf file is not an image file like a .jpg, .png, or .gif file, which is why you're probably not able to embed it in the body of the email.
