What is the maximum size of an email attachment file

The total maximum file size that you may upload using the File Manager is 8MB (megabytes). You can upload up to 6 files at a time; however, the combined size of all 6 files cannot exceed 8 MB. The file size limitation is global and cannot be changed. If you must upload larger files, you may do so by using a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) program.

Need Email Help? Please post the following information in your post. Do you use XfinityConnect? The Full or Lite version? Do you use an email client? Which one? (Eg; Windows Live mail, Outlook, a smartphone etc.) Which browser/version do you use? And- have you cleared your browser cache? Which operating system? XP, Vista, Windows 7, Mac OS X Details of the problem you are having.
That 8MB limit is NOT for email attachments. The maximum email size is 15MB. But since binary attachments (like pictures, video's, etc) expand when attached due to the encoding used to send them over a text protocol, the practical limit is much closer to 10MB. You can try larger and it might work, but it you stick to 10MB or below, you should have no problems (with size anyway).
