Re: Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E

This is most likely due to the Outbound SMTP Port Change. Information on the change can be found here, as well instructions on how to configure your client to work after the change.

Thanks,

Aakash

Re: Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E

Private Messages (PM’s)

At the top of each Forum page you will see a small white envelope  screenshot.108.jpg

This is the icon for Private Messages, referred to as ‘PM’s’.  A Private Message is a way to communicate in private, to another User, Moderator, or Administrator out of public view in the Forums.

The white envelope turns to yellow when you receive a PM.  screenshot.107.jpg

To open a PM to read it, double click on the yellow envelope. If you click on the white envelope a window will open with tabs for your Private Message Inbox, Sent Messages, Friends, Ignored Users, and Compose new Message.  You can also access this area by clicking on the Username in a Thread or post.  By default, Private Messages are enabled.  You can disable this feature in My Settings>Preferences> Private Messenger.

Re: Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E

I am also having trouble.  I am using livemail to post photos from Photoshop Elements 11, and the messages are not going through--getting this error message.  I have checked my settings and they look correct--although I am using Windows 7, not Vista.  Other ideas?

Please copy/paste the entire error message you are getting.

Also post your Email Settings for WLM too.

You are using the wrong Port for SMTP:  You are no longer allowed to use Port 25.

Change your Ports to the following:

POP-Port  995 with SSL ON

SMTP Port 465 with SSL ON

This server requires Auithenticatio must be checked

Do NOT heck SPA ( secure password authenticatio)

1- Are you asking how to send email using XfinityConnect (Comcast email) or using Windows Live Mail?

2- If you are using Windows Live Mail, you need to make sure that you are using the right Port for sending.

Which version of Windows Live Mail are you using?  If you know please?

You can open Windows Mail, then click on File, then click on "About" to see which version you are using.

1- You need to open Windows Live Mail, then click on Accounts, then click on Properties

Click on the Server tab: Click on both of these below to turn on:

Log on using clear test authentication

My Server requuires Authentication

2- Click on the Advaned tab next

3- Change the SMTP Port (outgoing port) to Port465

4- Check the box to turn on SSL

POP Port:  You can stay with Port 110 for POP or can change it to Port 995.  If you change it, turn on SSL as well.

Do you know which version of Internet Explorer and Firefox you use?

This clickable link contains the directions for clearing cache for all the different browsers and versions.

Click on that link and then scroll down to which version you use for both browsers.

Post back if you are able to do eveything I have now posted or not.  Let me know where you get 'stuck'  if you do and we can help more.
