HELP - All of a sudden, and with no changes on my part in the application, my Thunderbird 12.0.1 eMail client has just quit receiving downloads from Comcast.
I'm using Windows 7, plenty of RAM, Thunderbird 12.0.1 and I CAN SEND eMails from this application, just NOT RECEIVE them.;
Settings in Thunderbird are Server Settings - POP Mail Server, Port 110, STARTTLS, Normal password
Settings in Thunderbird Outgoing Server - SMTP - Comcast - smtp-comcast.n et (Default), Port 465, normal password, SSL/TLS
Using my MAC Mini with MS ENtourage 2008, Version 12.2.8. I CAN RECEIVE my eMails, although it is inconvenient to do so on my MAC.
Does anyone have any idea WHY the eMail downloads from Comcast with the Thunderbird eMail client have suddenly choked?
I have checked the Comcast HELP & FAQ areas and the Thunderbird HELP & FAQ areas and it seems that my settings are correct.
I am using the latest version of Thunderbird email client with the following settings and am not having any problems.
server name: mail.comcast.net
username: johndoe (dont add the @comcast.net)
connection security: ssl/tls
authentication method: normal password
That fixed the problem immediately - until the next time. ;-)
This doesn't happen often, but this is about the 3rd time in 5 or 6 years.
