I get "A Network Service Error Has Occurred" when I attempt to make any changes to the Call Manager under Preferences in Xfinity Connect. I have tried this in IE and FireFox and get the same error.
I can't make changes like forwarding my calls, sign up for the new Send Transcripts via Email.
Here is a portion of the error
msg: system failure: java.lang.NullPointerException
Any ideas to resolve this?

I'm getting the same error, in both Firefox and IE.

Getting the exact same error for several weeks. Multiple browsers, multiple networks. And of course there is no way to report it directly to Comcast...
Comcast, please look into this. The exact error message is as follows and is contained in a "XFINITY Connect" window with a "SEND ERROR REPORT" button and a "SHOW DETAILS" button:
"A network service error has occurred"

I'm having the same problem. Did you ever find a fix for this?

There is no fix... Apparently Comcast has elected to ignore the issue - yet they continue to advertise the "Call Manager" in their FAQ's. Go figure...

For me the problem seemed to go away on it's own. No one from Comcast or the board offered a resolution but I am now able to make the changes.

Just tried it again... Same result. I need to change the number of rings on my phone. I guess I'll have to call customer service...

The Droid XFINITY app works fine - that's what I'm using. Also, there are phone keypad commands that can change settings (although these have been problematic, too).

Try using the following link:

Just tried the suggestion of "digitalvoice.comcast.net". I thought I was home free as steps 1, 2 and 3 worked perfectly. I clicked on the final step only to get the following error:
The Digital Voice Center is currently unavailable.
We apologize for this inconvenience. Comcast Technical Support is currently working on the problem. Please try again later.
If this problem persists, call Customer Service at 1-800-COMCAST.
I am NOT impressed with Comcast...
Edit: I just went back in and it works!!! Thank you ChipWagon!!

No problem. Took me three chat sessions before the final guy suggested the digitalvoice.comcast.net link. You'd think they'd try that first.

Yeah, it doesn't do everything the call manager does, but at least I can change the number of rings! LOL

Working!!! Thanks, ChipWagon. I went to digitalvoice.comcast.net first to have voicemail messages sent via email. I then was able to go to Preferences-->Notifications to have the messages transcribed.
