Modem (internet/voice equipment rental)

I have consistently been harassed by xfinity concerning a modem they claim I rent. When I entered into an agreement with Comcast for x1 starter triple play, I advised that I would provide my own modem which I purchased at Best Buy and was used by the installer on the day they hooked me up. I have provided proof of purchase, but I am still being harassed. How can I make this go away once and for all? Please can someone from Comcast help me?
