Extending service to our home in VT

Comcast currently has service on the road I live on in Vermont, but the service ends 1.54 miles from my home.  How does one go about getting cable lines run further down the road?

You could have Comcast come out and do a site survey to determine the feasibility of running cable to your home. Most likely they won't even consider running cable that far out. If they do, it's going to be $$$$$ --in the neighborhood of $20K per mile. You may be able to reduce these costs if you have neighbors that also want Comcast.

Thanks for your response.  I figured the cost would be prohibitive, but had to ask.

VT2074, it never hurts to ask! 1+miles from the nearest line is a bit far, but I can see if we can get some kind of pricing, if the area is indeed serviceable.
