Collections issue

Collections issue

Back in January 2016. I moved and was a cancelling my account. Decided to transfer the account to my roommate since he wasn't moving. The rep emailed us the documents to fill out which we did and turned in to the service center.

Later in May, my old roommate called in to cancel the account and he read off the serial numbers over the phone before turning the equipment in and had the bill paid up.
A few months down the road I started getting calls from the collections department that I owed $209. I called in to exactly what it was for because I wasn't in contract before unless it was changed and the account should have been out of my name in the first place. The rep told me that no one ever called in to cancel the account which led it to be shut off in July.

I was told to go the service center and ask for a supervisor but with my work schedule and not living near a service center anymore it's hard for me to make it there. I know this is a peer to peer forum but I would really appreciate some help in getting this resolved.
