Xfinity site login wants a mobile phone number

Xfinity site login wants a mobile phone number

I do not have one and getting one just to complete a form is an expensive and dumb reason. I have no way to receive the comfirmation text. When I login, I have to enter my password again to reach the nag screen asking me to complete the uncompleteable.

Is there any way to complete this process without a mobile phone? If not why not? I tried Chat but they could not understand that I have no mobile phone and have Comcast voice mail disabled.

Hi ancient46, the site should give you an option to have the verification emailed to you. Can you please specify what you're trying to execute online that requires a mobile number?

Well it seems I did something or Comcast did something and that page has not appeared on my last 2 logins. On that page I did not see any options to providing a cell phone number. I do not remember(at 71 my memory it not what it was) but I could have entered the phone that we have for emergencies in the car.

If it comes back I will post the URL

There is a tiny 'SKIP' text (or something similar) below the main button you can click on to get past that stupid cell phone number thing.

Thank you for that information ancient46, I cannot duplicate your issue on my end. If the issues happens to return please take a screen shot if possible and share the error with me here, since you haven't seen this message pop up in the past two logins then I wouldn't worry about it too much unless it returns.
