Underestimating value of failure to provide service

Underestimating value of failure to provide service

For nearly 2 months, I did not have access to Xfinity Stream, the only way that I watch the TV services that I purchase from Comcast.  I was told that I would be credited for this lack of service once the issue was resolved, so that they could calculate the value based on how long I was without service.  In finally reaching a supervisor who could take care of this, he tried to tell me that the Stream service is only worth $5/month, even though I pay $65/month for a bundle that includes internet, basic cable, HBO, and the Stream app (plus an additional $11/month for other premium channels).  However, because the only way I am able to access TV channels is through the Stream app, I essentially didn't have access to any of my TV service for that entire time.

The appropriate way to calculate the value of the services that Comcast failed to provide me is by adding up the amounts I would have paid to access these services outside of Comcast.  A standalone HBO subscription costs $15/month.  I can access subscriptions for the other 2 premium channels through my Amazon Prime account for $9/month each.  Thus, the value of my premium channels alone is $33/month.  In addition, the other channels that I no longer have access to have some value, albeit one that is more difficult to determine because I cannot purchase standalone subscriptions to these channels.  Let's say, conservatively, that value is another $5/month.  The total estimated value of services that Comcast failed to provide me was $38/month, or roughly $70 for the 7 weeks I was without these services.

Please compensate me appropriately.

Hello cittamiller. We apologize for any interruption of service. I can review your situation and inability to use XFINITY Stream. I will also review your request for compensation. Please send me a private message and include your full name, service address, and account number so I can assist you.
