Self install kit charge not my fault

Self install kit charge not my fault

I’m an being charged a failed self install kit charge and I think it’s wrong. I hooked everything up my self just fine. There was no issues on my end so I called customer service and she went threw the whole troubleshooting process. Still nothing so she set me up with a technician. He came out an my only problem was I was not connected at the main turn on pole. I thought it was illegal to even touch them an also he said my box was bad so I don’t see why I’m being charged when none of this was my fault. So I called an was told Because someone came out I was getting that charged even after being told if it was on their side I wouldn’t get the charge. I’m looking for a new service provider

Re: Self install kit charge not my fault

I had almost the exact same issue/experience!!  I did not want to rent a modem from Comcast, so I purchased the one they told me to, yet it would not connect.  After multiple attempts to self-install and a total of almost 4 hours on the phone, they told me they would send a service technician out, but that I would not be charged the service fee.  He still couldn't fix the compatibility issue, so I was forced to rent a Comcast modem.  Two different customer service reps told me the charge would be removed, but now I'm being told that they cannot remove the charge and the lady essentially lied about there being no charge.  They would rather I pay the cancellation fee and yank my service than credit the $60 that I was told I wouldn't have to pay in the first place.  UNBELIEVABLE!!!  Absolutely terrible customer service.
