My wife and I are in the process of applying for a home mortgage. There is a $0.00 balance collection on her credit report from Comcast (which was resolved through a collection agency) that is negatively impacting her score and ruining our chances of receiving the loan. I've talked to agents on the phone with Comcast every day for the past 5 days, but I have 0 faith that anything will happen. No one seemed to properly understand the issue.

 

What can I do to have this completely removed from her credit report? Please help. I have already discussed with the collection's agency and they said Comcast has to remove the negative report.
