Contract Duration changed on moving to new address

I enrolled for the triple play package sometime around September 2016 with a 24 month lock-in agreement. I moved to a different address in May 2017 and had my service transferred to the new address.

Today, the monthly bill that i received included an HD technology fee which had been waived off since i enrolled in the package last year (i was told this would be waived off for the duration of my contract i.e. 24 months, at the time of enrollment). While talking to the CSR about this, i also enquired about different options/promotional packages available, to bring down my monthly bill, as i dont use find much use for voice and TV anymore. During this conversation, i came to know that my current lock-in period was reset to start from May 2017 (when i transferred to the new address), and so it is now set to expire in May 2019. I do not recollect being told about this when talking to the CSR at the time of placing my request for the transfer.

I am basically now locked in with a service that i dont really need through May 2019, and would have to pay a penalty for discontinuing before that.

Can someone help me with this ?
