$70 billed to change a dysfunctional box!!

$70 billed to change a dysfunctional box!!

Hi,

Last month, our TV service from XFinity stopped working. We called technical support; they tried to solve the issue remotely but came to the conclusion that an intervention from a technician was needed. They mentionned that the intervention would be not be charged to us if the cause of the malfunction is linked to material provided by XFinity.

The technician came and tried to:

1. Replace the cables in our house --> The service was not restored;

2. Change the XFinity box --> The TV worked!

However, I had the surprise to see a $70 charge on my next bill. After a phone call, I got a 50% discount on this charge since "XFinity was responsible for half of the problem". Well, I am extremely disappointed:

1. I note that I was initially charged $70... just in case I would not complain and pay?

2. Changing the box solved the issue! How can we reasonnably believe that both the box and the cables stopped working on the exact same date?!!!

 Right now, I am an extremely disappointed customer. Any advice on how to proceed in this case?
