I recently opted out of the Sports Package because football season was over. Last night I find out that CMT is on the Sports Package. Why? Is CMT really a sports channel?

Comcast calls the package the "Sports Entertainment Package". That way they can put any channel they want into it and stick customers who want that channel with yet another "fee".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CMT_(U.S._TV_channel) says

CMT's current programming now mainly consists of original reality programs and scripted series, off-network syndicated shows, and theatrically-released movies.

Sounds like just another way to get more money out of the subscribers. What a deal!....for them.

Hi Jtrad4, we look at our channel lineup from time to time and realign availability as needed. Each year, we consider changes to our channel lineup to better align our more popular packages with the most viewed programming. If you’d like to continue receiving the channel you’re missing, I can help with finding new package options.

So in plainspeak, "Sounds like just another way to get more money out of the subscribers."

Thank you for the reply. If you can find a way for me to get CMT, not lose any channels and not cost me any more money, have at it.

Hello, Jtrad4. I can help review your account's billing to see if we have any promotions available that would allow you to get CMT without increasing your monthly rate. Please click my name, ComcastMax, and then click Private Message Me to send me a message verifying your full name, address, and the phone number associated with your account so I can assist.
