Why is CMT on the Sports Package

Why is CMT on the Sports Package

I recently opted out of the Sports Package because football season was over. Last night I find out that CMT is on the Sports Package. Why? Is CMT really a sports channel?

Re: Why is CMT on the Sports Package

Comcast calls the package the "Sports Entertainment Package". That way they can put any channel they want into it and stick customers who want that channel with yet another "fee".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CMT_(U.S._TV_channel) says

CMT's current programming now mainly consists of original reality programs and scripted series, off-network syndicated shows, and theatrically-released movies.

Sounds like just another way to get more money out of the subscribers. What a deal!....for them.

Re: Why is CMT on the Sports Package

Hi Jtrad4, we look at our channel lineup from time to time and realign availability as needed. Each year, we consider changes to our channel lineup to better align our more popular packages with the most viewed programming. If you’d like to continue receiving the channel you’re missing, I can help with finding new package options.

So in plainspeak, "Sounds like just another way to get more money out of the subscribers."

Re: Why is CMT on the Sports Package

Thank you for the reply. If you can find a way for me to get CMT, not lose any channels and not cost me any more money, have at it.

Hello, Jtrad4. I can help review your account's billing to see if we have any promotions available that would allow you to get CMT without increasing your monthly rate. Please click my name, ComcastMax, and then click Private Message Me to send me a message verifying your full name, address, and the phone number associated with your account so I can assist.

I tried to send you a private message but the form won't allow me to input any information.

Re: Why is CMT on the Sports Package

I realize you aren't the one responsible for the decision but you have to see how ridiculous this is.  As a consumer, and not as a Comcast employee, I'm sure you would (quietly) agree that costs continue to go up, we get less and less and NOTHING is ever pro-rated when we lose something!!!!!  It's also quite convenient I might add that at the same time CMT decides to cancel Nashville making this current season the last season, the channel gets moved to a paid add-on package.  Of course people who have been following this show since the beginning will get conned into it.  Well....some will.  I refuse to pay another dime.  I'm so sick of Comcast and the monopoly it has on the community.  Aside from satellite, there are no other choices and THAT is why I'm *stuck*!

Re: Why is CMT on the Sports Package

FWIW, missingdish, Nashville is being carried on TV Land channel...  It was being broadcast at 10:00pm Thursdays from the beginning of this season, but for some reason, has been moved to 2:00 am Friday morning.  I don't know if it's because of the Olympics or not.  I have to remember each week to set my DVR  for this program..

You might have missed this post back in January.   :http://forums.xfinity.com/t5/Channels-and-Programming/Nashville-cancelled-after-Season-6/m-p/3025553...

Hope this helps, ciao, bj
