Mine too about the time that Spike no longer was in my channel line-up. It appears that the customer must live up to a 24 month contract BUT Comcast can increase pricing as well as take away channels and features at will and their end of a contract means NOTHING. Comcast is NOT to be trusted.

Buried at the bottom of the bill (paperless), not at the top of the bill where it says "News From Comcast", where there was notice of a local government channel being added as a digital channel.

THESE CHANELs where part of a contract or package how is this not a laviolation of those terms?  the price  included these Chanels. do we not have A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT!!? COME ON YOU KNOW YOU WANT SOME OF THAT. MONEY HELP!"US OUT

We live in Seattle, WA. and a couple of the channels we enjoy were just cut from viewing; CWT and POP.  So as the quality and quantitie of your programming keep shrinking and the cost of your services keep growing, we'll be researching other options for our TV, internet and land line phone services.  We are extremely disappointed in our service.

So CMT is considered a sports channel now?  My bill goes up, my choices go down and for technical help I am connected to someone who's second language is English.  I'm also charged for channels that aren't even in English in the name of "diversity" as an agent told me, but when I asked if the Latino bundle has English speaking channels she said no.  Doesn't sound like diversity to me!   I've been with Comcast for over 15 years and I'm going to check out other options.  I have the HD Preferred bundle until I find an outfit that considers the customer first.

I subscribe to the Preferred XF bundle and Spike TV, channels 1209 and 45, are suppose to be a part of the package. My main box can receive those channels but my little digital box does not. They don't even appear in the guide on the little box. What has happened?

Ready to find a different TV provider! Tired of losing channels & with little to no notice. Or its printed in some obscure spot & Print so small you need a magnifier to see let alone read.

Those 2 channels were removed from certain packages and added to others. In November a there was a noticed attached to all bills informing customers of certain package, rate, and tv lineup changes. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Why was CMT removed from the preferred channel lineup?  Now I find out that to get the CMT channel I have to add another package for $9.99, which I will not do.  Are you going to lower my bill for the channels lost?  Oh that's right, you don't lower bills, you only take away!!

I fail to see how Comcast can justify the removal of ANY channels when we've all paid an agreed amount for what we thought we would continue to get. In any case, why is it that they continue to give me half a dozen Hispanic stations, which I could care less about and never asked for, but they can remove Spike or any others at will. At least they should discount our bills accordingly when they remove them. We entered into an agreement with them when we joined Comcast and to repay us, they remove channels, charge us more, and find other ways to circumvent the trust we thought we had with them. It's only fair, in my estimation, that they either give us back Spike, CMT, & POP, and remove all the hispanic channels. I'll bet hispanics don't pay extra to get their stations, you think??!!! Let those stations be under some other package so that we aren't paying for them and lower our bill. It seems we continually pay more to get less, all the while, Comcast sees no need to make adjustments or even apologize for their greed. I'm totally fed up with this. Every chance they get, they continually find ways to make more money while screwing the very people they should be trying to keep as customers! I hate to say it but maybe the FCC needs to have more power to set stricter rules that EVERY supplier must follow, including rates, station changes, charges, etc. Get a clue, Comcast-----instead of driving customers away try being fair and honest. Be and innovator so that other cable and satellite companies look unappealing and bring more customers back to you. How foolish and dishonest this seems for a company that started with a good reputation. I'm done ranting; just can't fathom the greed, dishonesty, and overall disregard for their customer base.

As others have noted, the customer loses three channels, still is required to pay the same price for the same package in which these channels previously resided, and will be billed an 8% increase in cable charges in 2016.

 

Does Comcast ever consider the loss of trust that customers feel when such changes are implemented in a unilateral manner with no recourse for the customer?  It is no wonder that cable companies rank at the bottom of trust and are losing customers by the thousands.  It is this type of action that compels people to "cut" the cable cord!

Missing cmt channel today called and asked was told channel was moved up to higher priced package (sorry for the inconvenience)

Ask what would happen if canceled my account and was told i have to pay cancellation fee (surprise) . i asked how was that fair that i signed contract expecting to get what was promised and they can change but if i want to go somewhere else i have to pay fee. Way to build customer loyalty Comcast

How are customers going to be compensated for this?  If I ask for a channel to be added, I have to pay $5/Month.  Comcast, will my bill be reduced by $15/Month for the loss of POP, SPIKE, and CMT? I pay every month $112 because I added HBO   and I received the same movie on 3 different channels in the same time! This is BS! I will give up to all channels soon if they will not reduce the bill!

 

We need to stand up for this everyone!

How can Comcast just randomly start taking channels away?  We love CMT and watch it all the time (correction WATCHED it all the time).  Comcast in their infinite wisdom has now decided that CMT is a sports channel and it will be another $4.95 a month for us to be able to watch it.  And they wonder why everyone loathes Comcast????

I see lots of posts that have been removed for profanity, insults, etc. Which is fine - they should be. But, I don't see any posts with Comcast employees addressing concerns posted here..... If they're removing inappropriate posts, they are obviously monitoring these conversations. But, I see ZERO responses from Comcast.

 

With that said, I find it peculiar that they charge you to add channels, but they don't credit you when they remove them. I sent an email today and received a canned response that told me to download the My Account App to my phone and look for an answer there.... I already have it installed But I am actually going to uninstall it as I don't plan on staying with Comcast. After a long history of Comcast basically giving me the middle finger as a Customer, I'm pretty much done with them. Apparently, they believe that they are too big to fail, so they treat their customers like second rate citizens.

I'm quite disappointed not only with the recent channel lineup changes  but also with the missing courtesy of an announcement.  Channel erosion (e.g. Spike TV and CMT) and steady price creep indicate its time for this multi-decade customer to seek another more customer-centric provider. Cable is not dying -- its being flown into the ground!

Comcast can also reduce the bill for those that they take this away from. They should be able to make it up from those that change to the package where they moved it. After all, we were paying for it before and getting it - Now, we are still paying for it and not getting it. So, if you're going to move the programming, the fees associated with it should be picked up by those that get it and removed from those who don't....

I'm with you on this one smokey. Comcast is doing what Direct tv used to do and still ramp up cost to the consumer. Basically we're are paying for less channels, we are forced to pick upgrade paclages and pay far more to watch what we had. No different than Xfinity's ads about Direct TV ramping up charges for less. I can't wait to move from this area and get on with FIOS.

When I signed up for Comcast I was given a list of the channels I was paying for.  Recently, channels are being deleted.  This week I lost POP.  Why????  How can you sell a product then change it?  You are trying to force us to upgrade constanty.  Making it hard to stay a Comcast customer.

You will not hear back from them, period...There is a reason Comcast is the most hated company in America; and you have just seen only the latest action they have taken.  They have been this way since Brian took over from his old man...How do you think Comcast has grown to its large size; theft from little people like you and me. It's crooked through and through surviving on bribes, stealing, not keeping ones word!!! Now since they control NBC they have even more ways to influence the voting public in the way of the socialist democrats. Just hope Comcast goes down with the fortunes of this once great country. They are in bed with obummer and hilary..For the good of my country I must drop CCast this month.

I'm starting to wish that the Time-Warner merger had gone through and I was with Charter now, like was the plan for my area. Charter certainly can't be any worse.

i wondered what happened to POP so i called customer service.  not happy at all to learn they moved it from digital starter to digital preferred.  AND my bill has gone up too.  wt f***?  they take away services and raise the price?  and it's already too friggin expensive.

 

i asked the person on the phone why they made the change. he tried to tell me it was POP's choice to move to the higher priced package.  really?  liar.  greedy money grubbing company.  i'm gone as soon as FIOS is available in my area.

I agree.  I ried CMT and got "NOT AUTHORIZED".  Got conflicting replys from Comcast.  Sports Package?  Look at the lineup.  I looked last night (1/10/16) and it was Reba, Last Man Standing (which I like) and a movie.  Doesn't look like sports to me.

Six months ago I was able to access TCM but now I am being told I do not have access. My monthly billing hasn't changed so does this mean I am getting fewer options (less service) but paying more? This is the third time I have tried to get an answer. A year ago I had to resort to the FCC and the State's Attorney to get any sort of response from Comcast. I really don't want to go that rute again, but if necessary, I will. It is getting to the point that I am seriously thinking of dropping Internet, Phone, and reducing my "package" to the very basic and subscribing to sling.

I don`t understand how this company can charge so much for services and keep taking away channels.I currently pay $69.95 a month for my cable and have lost several channels since comcast has taken over from adelphia and have just learned that I lost another good channel but yet my rate goes up. How can this company charge more for less? When adelphia had this company I paid under $100 a month for both cable and internet but since comcast has taken over I pay almost $200 a month, this is not easy for a single person on disability who is basically a shutin. I called the company and for me to get back the channel I have currently lost I either have to pay extra or down grade from digital starter to digital preferred which doesn`t even have popular channels like tnt,tbs,usa,ect. Seems to me that this company is taking advantage of people and I can now understand why so many people are leaving or have already left comcast for other cable companies.I think I`ll do as others have done and start searching around for a better deal.Until then I`ll stay with comcast. I have been with the same company for about 13yrs but as they are now taking advantage of their customers with low income I think it`s time for a change. Sorry to rant but this is really getting to be unbelievable.

Actually digital preferred is a downgrade and doesn`t include TNT,TBS,USA,ect. I do agree with what you`re saying. With what they charge we should be getting more, not less.

I have lost Spike, POP, and CMT too as of 01/14/16. I am researching cable and internet alternative right now but unfortunately I am under this contract for another 8 months. It looks like the contract is only binding to us customers but not to Comcast, they can freely increase price and reduce service. Whatever loophole in the laws that allows this must stop.

We watch channel 761 CMT channel. That was a channel with  programs that we watch regularly.We also had shows that we had recorded on our DVR. We found out  that we had to subscribe to this channel now even though that was included in our premium package programming.What Xfinity did was to put it in the sport package and to get it would cost us another $10.00 a month. There was no notice, we went to that channel and it said we needed to subscribe and that was free. Well what they don't say is it's free if you have the sports package that they linked this channel that they put it with and it would  cost an extra $10.00 a month. They even took away what we had saved on our DVR. Personally I think this a bunch of garbage, and I hope that enough people complain so that they bring back the channel to were it should be. In the mean time I will make sure that everyone I know will be told of the high handed practices of Comcast.
