You need digital preferred now, which is about $20 a month extra.

That's good information but If their technology is an issue, it's certainly within Comcast's ability and responsibility to address it. They have effectively removed channels from my preferred service and have offered no remedy but to increase my cost. Why would I spend an additional $20 per month to reclaim a channel Comcast removed. What protection do we have against future selective channel changes? The answer is none so perhaps it's time to consider cutting the cable or moving to Satellite. While other companies work hard to deliver more goods and services for less, Comcast continues to manipulate its services to offer less and charge more.

Gang, I just complained to the Fcc, and to the NJBoard of Public Utilities. I suggest that you do the same. You can do it online.  Just Google them.

CMT removed from Digital Preferred

Removing a channel, such as CMT or Spike, from Digital Preferred without reducing the price is pretty shoddy customer service.  I don't know about anybody else but my billed is paid through Feb. 7, 2016 and CMT is listed as part of the Digital Preferred package on that statement.

Comcast this is just another gypsy tactic in your long string of questionable tactics. Your CEO made 40 million last year and is rated in top 5 most overpaid people and you charge people 10 bucks for a new service that cost you 5?????. Ha, I'm finally going direct tv.

Spike TV (what used to be channel 61)

Why did you removbe Spike TV (ch 61) from the basic TV? IT's almost like you dont want the customers to watch anything byt the three channels we used to get with and antenna.

 

You aren't making it enjoyable to watch TV anymore.

Missing Channels

We have an HD box and 3 HD adapters. We were receiving channel 100 (POP) and channel 173 (TVONE) on all 4 TVs but now we only recieve those channels on our main box and not on the HD adapter boxes. What happened?

Really Comcast you just have to keep squeezing the people right , what happen to keep customer happy , you make it very hard to be a loyal customer , profit over values for the people , yeah keep hiring those smart ceo's maybe cut out a salary of one of these jackasses and give back to the people , and what's with the little boxes , biggest money scam, and you guys have the FCC going along with you that's why iptv is getting so popular with free over the air sats I may have to switch and get rid of those little boxes , since you guys keep taking away are channel pretty soon it will be 300.00 month for stupid video signals , I am going to post this on Facebook maybe I will get no response or maybe I will get a big response but if I get enough people maybe to agree maybe we can do SOMTHING or stand together

They will not listen I tried to complain to FCCInfo they basically told me to get lost and stop complaining they are all in bed with each other gov tells them to push certain media and in turn they can push us around and we are the idiots who pay

POP has been moved to Digital Preferred and adapters only have access up to and including Digital Starter.

Loss of channel 62

Good Morning,

 

Comcast has made the decision to delete the Spike channel from my TV package. Since I watch this channel most days its loss affects my viewing enjoyment.

 

Should I pay ther same or more for a decline of service from Comcast? If you can arbitrally cut channels from my viewing package it would be equally fair to pay less for TV viewing. 

 

I suggest a 30% decrease in monthly payments.

I said it before we have been made victims and nobody cares anymore (except the ones that realize they have been taking advantage of). It benefits them to have us remain victims.

I've stuck with Comcast through everything, but this may be the last straw. We've stayed with digital starter for budget reasons, but I'm going to Fios if this keeps happening.

It's not that we weren't notified but CMT can only be accessed on a sports package is crazy! It a family base channel. What are you thinking! Please put it back on?

Woke up Sun. morn, turned on Spike to watch PowerNation and found out I no longer have it in my tier. Not gonna pay more, FiOS here I come.

Why are other areas able to get CMT (Houston, Mississippi, Nashville) and Spike TV (Mississippi, Houston), on DTA with Digital Starter with no plans to remove them to a different tier?
If I have Digital Preferred, why am I not able to access CMT, Spike TV or POP on the Xfinity app?

I'm referring to Digital Starter. From the link ComcastAndrew provided, Mississippi can get CMT and Spike TV with Digital Starter. Everywhere else it shows that you must have Digital Preferred or a Sports/Entertainment Pack to get CMT. Unless the info provided in the link is wrong.

I have digital preferred and lost CMT. Funny thing is Comcast claims it because the cost to broadcast these channels went up. My mom has a different cable provider, a lesser package than I do and yet she still has CMT. Makes me wonder. Bombard with emails: ecare@comcast .com.

What's really funny is Comcast claims the change is because of a cost increase, and the cost increase they are passing on to us is essentially $9.95+tax for just one channel. If we had wanted the Sports package, we already would have had it. CMT isn't a no-commercials premium channel like an HBO, Showtime, Starz etc, it's a plain commercial, basic cable channel. $119.40 a year more for that is outrageous.

 

Well, I only watched 2 short run series' on CMT anyway, so I won't miss not having it, past the free 2 months of the package they gave me when I called to complain that is. But, Comcast did do me a favor, They forced me to take a good look at my bill. I found enough things to drop and did drop over the last couple of days, I'm now saving $46.43+tax monthly - $557.16+tax yearly. I can do a lot better things with that money other than giving it to them.

Reminds me of when the oil refineries here in the Midwest continuously "break down", and quite often on a holiday. So the consumers are forced to pick up the cost for their "repairs or maintenance".
I don't think one person here is in favor of paying what is essentially a premium for a basic cable channel. I don't even think HBO or Showtime is worth $9.95 more per month. I watched one series when I had HBO (True Blood) and it was only 10 episodes? What I do know is that I have noticed some quality TV programming being brought to antenna. That plus Netflix is more than enough for two eyes (or one) to watch. I can guarantee when I'm not in a contract, I will cut the Comcast cord.
A funny side note, my mom said a Comcast door to door rep recently came to try to sell her a package. She has DirectTV. She told him she heard way too many negative complaints and would never consider switching. The word is getting around.

I would just like to let Comcast/Xfinity know I will be cancelling my service due to your inappropriate buisness practices. Your competitors have earned my buisness not because of superior product, nor cost; but purely because of your epic failure to maintain moral standards of service to your members. I only hope that more members make similar decisions, and the market will prove your mistakes for you as your buisness is forced to downsize.

You have a commercial about satelite customers and you want to win them back. Seems to me that your driving them away... We are going to have to sit down and weigh our options, Just maybe a satelite dish is just right for us too!!!
