Suddenly getting charged for a modem I own!

I've been with comcast for over 2 years now. I own my modem, I'm well aware of comcast's reputation for falsely charging a modem rental fee to people that own their modem. So whenever I sign up for anything with them I make it very clear to the represesntative that I own my modem, don't charge me for renting. And so far so good until about 2 months ago. Out of the blue I received a letter from comcast that they forgot to charge me for my renting modem and they will start charging me for it. It's almost comical if it wasn't so unethical for comcast. And not only did it raise my bill $10 but in the end my bill went up $15 because of some fee it adds too.

 

Any help?!

Update: Still getting falsely charged for renting a modem. Sent proof that i purchased the modem (which is redicoulous in itself that the customer has to prove that they purchased the modem). Will update if/when comcast decides to do the right thing and be ethical.

Just to update everyone, still no response or resolution from comcast since I sent over the proof that I bought my modem.

Now my internet doesnt work at all. Just spent 30 minutes on phone with comcast and they said that my customer owned modem was removed from the system and now they cant add it back. Whats going on here
