How long do I have to cancel before I'm considered a new customer?

Been with Comsast off and on for probably 30 years and I think I'm done.  My package is well over $200 now and it just isn't fair that new customers are treated better than longstanding ones. 

I'm ready to cut the cord.....I'm all signed up and ready to go with DireTVNOW...But I'm just curious as to how long I have to be cancelled before I am considered a new customer? 

Also, if I keep just internet, does that exclude me from ever being a new Cable TV customer?
